Unidentified Irish Male 110

Post by Finbarr Connolly » Fri Jul 02, 2021 12:45 pm

The Office of the President has confirmed they sent out a commemorative medal on the 29th June to mark the 110th birthday of the unidentified oldest man occurring today, 2nd July.

This further corroborates the idea that the man is resident within the state, as the medal would have been sent earlier had he been residing abroad.

This is the first male Irish supercentenarian since the claimed case of George Casey (15 May 1857 - 27 Nov 1968)

No verification there of course, although the fact he had been receiving the pension for 41 years and also acquired the Centenarian Bounty in 1957 is of interest.

Therefore today is an historic day for Irish longevity - albeit still shrouded in mystery.

Congratulations to him on his 110th birthday! I hope that there might be some news stories to follow, although he seems quite keen on his anonymity so who knows.
