Re: (UK) Margaret Reed 20/04/1910 - 08/07/2021

Very sorry to hear the news. I had noticed quite a difference between the 110th and 111th photos to be honest.

That is the 1911 Irish Census now consigned to the history books.

Unidentified Irish Male 110

The Office of the President has confirmed they sent out a commemorative medal on the 29th June to mark the 110th birthday of the unidentified oldest man occurring today, 2nd July. This further corroborates the idea that the man is resident within the state, as the medal would have been sent earlier ...

Michael O'Connor aged 107

Ireland's (second?) oldest man, Michael O'Connor, gave an audio interview in which he sounds remarkably lucid -

Re: VAN DEN BOSCH - SEYMUS 413+

Just a reminder of the Clarke siblings from Galway, Ireland - Joseph "Joe" Clarke (1 January 1901 – 3 January 2002): 101 years, 2 days Charles "Charlie" Clarke (8 July 1902 – 17 November 2002): 100 years, 132 days Patrick "Pat" Clarke (22 August 1903 – 6 March 2005): 101 years, 196 days James "Jimmy...

Re: VAN DEN BOSCH - SEYMUS 413+

That's extremely impressive. There can't be too many other cases of 3 simultaneous centenarian siblings.

Re: Ireland's oldest ever man?

It is now established beyond reasonable doubt that the man was alive on his 109th birthday - 2nd July 2020. Current status is unconfirmed and may well not be until July 2021. Ireland's oldest woman died, probably yesterday the 26th - https://www.donegalwoman.ie/2020/11/27/sadness-as-donegals-oldest-...

Ireland's oldest ever man?

Today the unidentified male (*2 July 1911) would be 109 years 133 days old and therefore surpass, at 39946 days, James Hanlon (1891-2001). However... my most recent communication with the officials lead me to believe this case is not watertight. A commemorative medal to mark his 109th was sent out i...

Andrew, I think you meant to say 'following the death of Joan Hocquard' rather than Hilda Clulow on your home page.

Re: (UK) Margaret Reed 20/04/1910 - 110th birthday

A specially interesting case for me as she is the last survivor of the 4,384,518 people recorded in the All Ireland Census of 1911 -
